All five players saw stints in Raleigh in the 2012-13 season, with Nash making arguably the biggest progession, playing in 32 of the team’s 48 games. Jordan made his NHL debut in mid-February and skated in five games with the Hurricanes. Staal joined his two brothers at the conclusion of the season, averaging around 13 minutes in his first two NHL games.
Forwards AJ Jenks, Andreas Nodl and Luke Pither, defensemen Justin Krueger and Joe Sova and goaltender John Muse were not qualified and will become unrestricted free agents. It has previously been reported that Krueger signed a two-year deal with Bern of the Swiss Elite League.
The following players are also unrestricted free agents: forwards Tim Brent, Chad LaRose, Jerome Samson and Tim Wallace, defensemen Marc-Andre Bergeron, Joe Corvo, Marc-Andre Gragnani and Bobby Sanguinetti and goaltender Dan Ellis. Gragnani has reportedly signed a one-year contract with Lev of the Kontinental Hockey League.
