RALEIGH, NC – Doug Warf, Vice President of Marketing for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s plans to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and raise money for childhood cancer research.
On March 25, the Hurricanes will host a St. Baldrick’s shaving location on the PNC Arena South Plaza prior to the team’s game against the New York Islanders. The first 200 fans to shave their heads in support of St. Baldrick’s will receive a pair of tickets to that night’s game, and have their pictures taken with members of the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad. A team of stylists from SportClips will be on hand to shave heads from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., and Hurricanes personality Ron the Ref and 99.9 FM The Fan’s Mike Maniscalco will emcee the shaving event. Fans can get more information and register early for the event by visiting www.CarolinaHurricanes.com/stbaldricks.
The Hurricanes have helped support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation since 2005-06, and this marks the fifth straight year the team has hosted a shaving location. St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
