Canes Reassign Chris Terry to Charlotte

Forward played in Carolina’s 3-1 win at Columbus on Tuesday

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forward Chris Terry to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Terry, 24, was recalled from Charlotte for the second time this season on Monday, and played in the Hurricanes’ 3-1 win at Columbus on Tuesday. The Brampton, Ont., native has played in eight NHL games with Carolina this season, averaging 11:38 of ice time per game. Terry (5’10”, 195 lbs.) ranks second among Charlotte skaters this season in goals (23), assists (33) and power-play goals (11), and is tied for first on the team with 56 points in 56 games. He has scored one goal in 11 career NHL games with Carolina since being drafted by the Hurricanes in the fifth round, 132nd overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
