2011-12 SEASON

2003-04: Played his first season of major junior hockey with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League (WHL)… Totaled five goals and seven assists (12 points) in 44 games… Skated in all four playoff games for Kootenay as the Ice were swept by eventual Memorial Cup champion Kelowna.

2004-05: Notched 19 points (8g, 11a) in 70 regular-season games for Kootenay… Earned three points (1g, 2a) in 16 playoff games, as the Ice advanced to the Western Conference Final before falling to Kelowna in six games.

2005-06: Split the season between Kootenay and Red Deer, finishing the season as Red Deer’s leading scorer with 50 points (17g, 33a) in 73 games… Was teammates with his cousin and former Hurricanes center Brandon Sutter with Red Deer, and was coached by his uncle, Brent.

2006-07: Served as captain for Red Deer and was second among Rebels skaters in goals (28) and tied with his cousin Brandon for third on the team in points (57)… Was second among Rebels skaters with seven points (3g, 4a) in seven playoff games, as Red Deer fell to Medicine Hat in the opening round… Completed his junior hockey career with 138 points (58g, 80a) and 274 penalty minutes in 254 regular-season games.

2007-08: Completed his first professional season, spending the entire season with Quad City (AHL)… Totaled 10 points (4g, 6a) and 63 penalty minutes in 75 games… Made his AHL debut and earned his first professional point (assist) vs. Rockford (10/6)… Netted his first AHL goal at Iowa (11/17).

2008-09: Spent the majority of the season with Quad City (AHL), also appearing in his first NHL season with Calgary… Had 25 points (10g, 15a) in 71 games on the AHL level, and scored one goal in four NHL games with the Flames… Began the season with Quad City, tallying seven points (1g, 6a) in 28 games before earning his first NHL recall on 12/22… Made his NHL debut and beat Jean-Sebastien Giguere for his first NHL goal vs. ANA (12/23)… Skated in three more NHL games before being reassigned to Quad City for the remainder of the season.

2009-10: Appeared in 10 NHL games with the Flames, totaling five penalty minutes… Earned 24 points (9g, 15a) in 66 games for the Abbotsford Heat on the AHL level… Served as an alternate captain for Abbotsford… Led the Heat in playoff scoring with 11 points (4g, 7a) in 13 games as Abbotsford topped Rochester before falling to Hamilton in the division finals.

2010-11: Skated in five NHL games with Calgary and Carolina, earning one assist… Totaled 21 points (9g, 12a) in 60 regular-season games for Charlotte on the AHL level… Earned a spot on the Calgary roster out of training camp, but appeared in just four of 16 games prior to being traded to Carolina… Earned his only NHL point of the season with an assist for Calgary vs. LA (10/10)… Acquired by Carolina from Calgary on 11/17… Made his Charlotte debut vs. Adirondack (11/19) and scored his first Checkers goal vs. Syracuse (12/6)… Served his only stint with Carolina from 2/11-2/13… Made his Hurricanes debut at TB (2/12)… Skated in all 16 Calder Cup Playoff games for Charlotte, as the Checkers advanced to the Eastern Confernece Final before falling to Binghamton… Led Checkers skaters in points (14) and assists (10)… Scored the overtime, game-winning goal in Game 3 of the East Division Final vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (5/2).
