Completed his fifth season with Carolina’s top minor-league affiliate, serving as one of Charlotte’s alternate captains… Matched his career high in assists (12) and fell two points short of his career high in points (21)… Ranked second on the team with 103 penalty minutes… Scored his first goal of the season vs. Peoria (10/15)… Scored on his first career shootout attempt in the 11th round vs. Hershey (1/11)… Found the back of the net at Abbotsford (1/20), giving him a four-game point streak (1g, 3a), his longest since his rookie season… Tied the game with 1:37 remaining in regulation to force overtime at Lake Erie (3/3)… Notched the game-winner vs. Chicago (3/11).
CAREER
Signed a two-year, two-way contract with Carolina on 5/21/12… Had 106 points (50g, 56a) and 579 penalty minutes in 342 career regular-season American Hockey League (AHL) games heading into 2012-13… Scored 50 goals and earned 90 assists (140 points) in 191 regular-season games over three seasons with Chicoutimi of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2004-2007… Posted 22 goals and 35 assists (57 points) in 62 games during his final junior season with Chicoutimi in 2006-07… Made his professional debut with Albany (AHL) on 4/4/07, and notched his first AHL goal with the River Rats on 4/11/07… Completed his first full professional season with Albany (AHL) in 2007-08, notching 23 points (11g, 12a) in 64 games… Had 19 points (7g, 12a) in 55 games before having his 2008-09 season cut short when he was injured in the Albany River Rats’ bus crash on 2/19/09… Totaled 22 points, including a career-high 14 goals, in 2009-10 with Albany (AHL)… Played in his 200th career AHL game vs. Adirondack (4/3/10)… Earned 18 points (8g, 10a) in 72 games for Charlotte (AHL) in 2010-11, serving as an alternate captain for the Checkers and ranking third on the team with 101 penalty minutes… Earned five points (2g, 3a) and 16 penalty minutes in 16 Calder Cup Playoff games for the Checkers, including the series-clinching goal in overtime at Hershey (4/24).
