Completed his final season of junior hockey with Plymouth (OHL), establishing career highs in assists (25) and points (30)… Earned two assists in Plymouth’s opener vs. Erie (9/24)… Had his second multi-assist game of the season with a pair of helpers vs. Saginaw (12/30)… Netted a goal and added an assist vs. Windsor (1/16)… Registered two helpers at Saginaw (2/28)… Tallied season highs in goals (2) and points (3) at Erie (3/7)… Had a season-high three game point streak from 3/7-3/11 (2g, 3a)…Led Whalers defensemen in playoff scoring with 10 points (2g, 8a) in 13 games as Plymouth fell to Kitchener in the second round… Registered three assists in Game 3 of the first round vs. Guelph… Scored a goal and added an assist in Game 3 vs. Kitchener (4/10).
CAREER
Signed by the Hurricanes to a three-year, entry-level contract on 3/16/12… Completed his junior hockey career with 69 points (14g, 55a) and 253 penalty minutes in 210 career games with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)… Participated in the 2011 U.S. Junior Team Evaluation Camp in August 2011… Was born in Columbus, OH, but grew up in Denver, CO… His family moved to Michigan when he was 14 so he could be a part of the Compuware youth hockey program… Had five assists and 33 penalty minutes for the Detroit Compuware U-16 squad in the Midwest Elite Hockey League (MWEHL) in 2007-08… Began his OHL season for Plymouth in 2008-09, skating in 12 regular-season and five playoff games with the Whalers… Made his OHL debut at Sault Ste. Marie (9/26/08)… Notched his first OHL point with an assist vs. Belleville (2/7/09)… Named Plymouth’s Most Improved Player after earning 12 points (3g, 9a) and a plus-10 rating in 68 games during his second OHL season in 2009-10… Netted his first career OHL goal vs. Sarnia (11/6/09)… Ranked second among Whalers defensemen in scoring with 25 points (6g, 19a) in 66 regular-season games in 2010-11, and was second on the team in plus/minus (+17) and third on the team in penalty minutes (87).
