Completed his second season of major junior hockey, notching 12 goals and earning seven assists (19 points) in 33 games with Guelph (OHL)… Selected as an alternate captain for the Storm prior to the season… Earned his first point of the season with an assist in the opener at Windsor (9/22)… Earned a pair of assists at Sudbury (10/28)… Had goals in three consecutive games from 10/29-11/5… Netted a pair of goals including the game-winner at Erie (11/19)… Scored a goal and added an assist at Mississauga (11/27)… Missed more that two months of action after suffering a wrist injury in December… Returned to action at Erie (2/29)… Scored two power-play goals and had an assist at Erie (3/11)… Had two points (1g, 1a) in six OHL playoff games as Guelph fell to Plymouth in the opening round.
CAREER
Had totaled 33 points (22g, 11a) and 63 penalty minutes in 101 career games with Guelph in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) entering the 2012-13 season… Is the younger brother of Colorado Avalanche forward Jamie McGinn, and forward Tye McGinn, who was drafted by Philadelphia in 2010… Is coached by former Carolina forward Scott Walker in Guelph… Played for the Guelph Junior Storm prior to beginning his OHL career in 2010-11… Had 14 points (10g, 4a) and 38 penalty minutes during his rookie OHL season in 2010-11… Made his OHL debut vs. Owen Sound (9/24/10)… Earned his first OHL point with an assist vs. Sault Ste. Marie (10/17/10)… Scored his first OHL goal at Erie (11/10/10).
