Right wing Jeff O’Neill has 11 goals in the last 22 games. His four-game goals streak (Jan. 3-8: 5g, 0a) was the longest this season by any Carolina player. O’Neill leads the team with 23 goals and 47 points. He ranked tied for seventh among all NHL players with six game-winning goals through games of Feb. 19. Josef Vasicek has six goals and five assists in the last 13 games. Left wing Ryan Bayda made his NHL debut on Feb. 14 against Washington, earned his first NHL point, an assist on Sean Hill’s goal Feb. 15 at Philadelphia and scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday at Toronto.

CAROLINA / TAMPA BAY NOTES
The Carolina Hurricanes and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet tonight for the final time this season. This marks the fifth meeting between the Southeast Division rivals this season. The Lightning won the teams’ first 2002-03 matchup 5-1 at the St. Pete Times Forum on Oct. 12. Tampa Bay won the rematch in Raleigh, 2-1 in overtime on Nov. 17 before the teams skated to a 1-1 tie on Dec. 18 at RBC Center. On Jan. 30, the final game before the NHL All-Star break, the Lightning scored a 3-1 win at St. Pete Times Forum.
The Hurricanes won the 2001-02 regular-season series against the Lightning with a 3-2-0 record. Carolina was 1-1-0 at home against Tampa Bay, falling to the Lightning 4-0 on Nov. 25, 2001 and defeating Tampa Bay 4-2 on April 10, 2002 to clinch the Southeast Division title. The Hurricanes were 2-1-0 in Tampa, earning wins on Dec. 27 (3-2) and Jan. 30 (3-1) and falling 2-0 on Nov. 17. Carolina is 23-15-6-0 all-time against the Lightning, with a 15-3-4-0 record at home and an 8-12-3-0 record in Tampa.
