The Carolina Hurricanes conclude their four-game season series with Buffalo on Saturday as the Sabres visit the RBC Center. This is the final game of the Hurricanes’ 10-game high-definition television schedule. Hurricanes forward Jeff O’Neill ranks first among Carolina goal scorers with 30 markers and first among all Hurricanes in scoring with 60 points (30g, 30a) this season. CAROLINA / BUFFALO NOTES
The Carolina Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres meet tonight in the fourth of four regular-season matchups. Kevin Weekes made 26 saves to shut out the Sabres in the teams’ first meeting on Nov. 7 at RBC Center, but Buffalo returned the favor by notching six against the Hurricanes in a 6-3 win at HSBC Arena on Jan. 3. Radim Vrbata scored an extra-attacker goal to force overtime and Craig Adams notched the game-winner as the Hurricanes downed the Sabres 3-2 on March 12. Carolina went 1-1-1-1 (4 points) in four games against Buffalo last season and scored a win and an overtime loss at HSBC Arena in 2001-02. The Hurricanes own a 55-76-18-1 all-time record against the Sabres including a 31-33-11-0 home record and 24-43-7-1 road mark.
