The Carolina Hurricanes play their third of four consecutive road games tonight as they travel to Boston to take on the Bruins at FleetCenter. The Hurricanes are in the midst of their first of 17 sets of back-to-back games this season, after scoring a 1-1 tie at Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

CAROLINA NOTES
Centerman Rod Brind’Amour and winger Erik Cole have had a hand in five of Carolina’s seven goals this season. Skating with winger Craig Adams on Oct. 18 at Madison Square Garden, Cole scored the game’s first goal from Brind’Amour and Adams, and Adams scored the Hurricanes’ second goal from Cole and Brind’Amour. Cole leads the team with four points (2g, 2a) with Brind’Amour a close second with three points (1g, 2a).

CAROLINA / BOSTON NOTES
The Hurricanes and the Bruins meet for the first of four match ups during the 2003-04 season. The teams will complete the two-game set at FleetCenter on Dec. 20, before concluding the season series with Feb. 21 and March 30 match ups at the RBC Center.

Last season, Boston won the teams’ four-game series with a 2-1-1-0 record, winning one and dropping one at FleetCenter. The Hurricanes downed the Bruins 4-2 on Jan. 4, after Boston won the team’s first meeting o Nov. 21, 3-1. In the first game at Carolina on Feb. 19, the teams skated to a 1-1 tie. The Bruins won the team’s final meeting of the season, 4-2 at the RBC Center. Jeff O’Neill (3g, 1a) and Ron Francis (1g, 3a) lead the Hurricanes against Boston last season with four points each. The Hurricanes are 54-81-15-0 all-time against the Bruins, including a 31-35-8-0 home mark and a 23-46-7-0 record in Boston.
