With his next goal scored, Ron Francis will move into a tie with Stan Mikita (541) for 20th on the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring list. Through games of Nov. 21, Francis (540 career, 4 in 2003-04) was one goal ahead of Detroit’s Brendan Shanahan (539, 6) on that list… With his next assist, Hurricanes defenseman Sean Hill will notch his 100th assist with the team… Winger Jeff O’Neill will pass Adam Burt (626) and move into fourth place on the Hurricanes all-time games-played list with his next game played.

CAROLINA / LIGHTNING NOTES
The Hurricanes and the Lightning meet for the third of six match ups during the 2003-04 season. The teams first met on Nov. 1 at St. Pete Times Forum, a 4-3 Lightning win, and skated to a 1-1 tie eight days later in Raleigh. Carolina and Tampa Bay will meet twice more at St. Pete Times Forum (1/15, 3/13) and have one game remaining at the RBC Center (3/10) after today’s contest.
The Hurricanes were winless against Tampa Bay in 2002-03 for the first season in franchise history, notching just three points in the five games between the teams (0-2-2-1). Ron Francis led all Hurricanes in scoring against Tampa Bay last season with three points (1g, 2a) in five games. The Hurricanes are 23-16-9-1 all-time against the Lightning, including a 15-3-6-1 home mark and a 8-13-3-0 record in Tampa.
