GAME NIGHT
The Carolina Hurricanes play host to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday in the second game of a two-game home stand, and the first game of a back-to-back set for Carolina. Following Tuesday’s 7 p.m. game at the RBC Center, the Hurricanes will travel to New Jersey for a Wednesday evening meeting with the Devils.
Right wing Jeff O’Neill currently leads the Hurricanes in points (25) and assists (17). O’Neill tied Pat Verbeek (192) for fifth on the franchise’s all-time goal-scoring list with his hat trick at Atlanta on Jan. 16. On Jan. 11, O’Neill passed Verbeek (403) and took sole possession of third place on the franchise’s all-time points list with an assist on Eric Staal’s goal. Forward Josef Vasicek leads the team in goals (12), power-play goals (5) and ranks second with 22 points.

CAROLINA / SENATORS NOTES
The Hurricanes and the Senators meet for the third of four match ups this season, and the second of two games in nine days at the RBC Center. Ottawa downed the Hurricanes 6-1 in the teams’ first meeting, Nov. 20 at Corel Centre. Carolina tied the teams’ second game when Erik Cole went end-to-end and scored to make it 2-2 with 3:29 remaining in regulation. The teams will round out the season series at Corel Centre on March 20.
Last season, the Senators went unbeaten (3-0-1-0) against the Hurricanes, posting two wins at home and a win and a tie at the RBC Center. Ron Francis (2g, 3a) and Jeff O’Neill (2g, 3a) led the Hurricanes with five points each in last season’s four-game set. Carolina has gone 28-18-8-0 against the Senators all time, including a 16-6-4-0 home record and a 12-12-4-0 record in Ottawa.
