HURRICANES TO HOLD ‘MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY’ ON SUNDAY AT RBC CENTER
A portion of all ticket sales for game vs. Buffalo to benefit military families
RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2004) – Matt West, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Sales for the Carolina Hurricanes announced today that Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres will be “Military Appreciation Day” at the RBC Center. The event, sponsored by RBC Centura, WRAL-TV and the Carolina Hurricanes, will pay tribute to the men and women who serve the United States in each of the branches of the military. A portion of all ticket sales leading up to the event will go to benefit North Carolina military families. Face-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
Prior to the game, military equipment including four helicopters, military police vehicles, artillery pieces, an Avenger vehicle and an M120 Mortar will be on display outside of the RBC Center and information on each branch of the military will be available throughout the event. During the game, promotions will honor service personnel, and video greetings from Fort Bragg-based troops currently serving in Iraq will be played on the RBC Center jumbotron.
