HURRICANES’ CANIAC APPRECIATION DAY SET FOR FRIDAY
Players to Give Fans Shirts Off Their BacksRALEIGH, N.C. (March 30, 2004) – Matt West, Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing for the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will hold its annual Caniac Appreciation Day at this season’s final home game, Friday, April 2 against the New York Islanders. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m., two hours prior to the game’s 7 p.m. start.
Announcements will be made throughout Friday night’s game identifying winners of the “Shirts Off Our Back” promotion. Following the game, winning fans will walk onto the ice and each Hurricanes player will give his jersey to a selected fan.
The band Spoonful of Soul will open Caniac Appreciation Day on the RBC Center’s south lawn. Also on the south lawn, there will be several interactive games, including the slap shot booth, whirly bird and the joust. Members of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina Storm Squad will be on hand to run the games and participate in all of the Caniac Appreciation Day activities. Concessions will be available to fans attending the pre-game festivities.
