HURRICANES REASSIGN RYAN BAYDA TO LOWELL
Forward to join Lowell for playoff pushRALEIGH, N.C. (April 3, 2004) - Jim Rutherford, President / General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned winger Ryan Bayda to Lowell of the American Hockey League.
Bayda, 23, completes his second season with the Hurricanes. In 44 games with Carolina during the 2003-04 season, the Saskatoon, Sask., native totaled three goals and three assists (6 points). In 29 AHL games with Lowell this year, Bayda (5' 11", 185 lbs.) has recorded seven goals and 14 assists (28 points). Bayda has totaled seven goals and 13 assists (20 points) in 69 career NHL games. The Hurricanes selected Bayda in the third round, 80th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Hurricanes complete their season on Sunday against the Florida Panthers at Office Depot Center in Sunrise, Fla. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net with face-off set for 3 p.m.
