HURRICANES AGREE TO TERMS WITH MIKE ZIGOMANIS
Forward has played parts of two seasons with Carolina

Zigomanis, 23, played in 17 games with Carolina in 2003-04, his third professional season. He also played in 61 games with Lowell, the Hurricanesâ€™ American Hockey League affiliate, recording team highs with 35 assists and 52 points. Zigomanis (6â€™ 1â€?, 200 lbs.) was named the Most Valuable Player of the AHL All-Star Game on Feb. 9, after recording a goal and two assists in the contest. He was named AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 25.
The Hurricanes drafted the North York, Ont., native in the second round, 46th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Buffalo originally drafted Zigomanis in the third round, 64th overall, in 1999, but he re-entered the draft after not reaching a contract agreement with the Sabres. In 36 NHL games, all with Carolina, Zigomanis has recorded two goals and four assists (6 points). In three AHL seasons with Lowell, he has played in 178 contests, notching 48 goals, 83 assists (131 points) and accumulating 99 penalty minutes.
