HURRICANES, ALE HOUSE TEAM UP FOR 2005-06 \'COOL BARS\'
First of 10 Events Set for Season Opener, Wednesday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Oct. 4, 2005

RALEIGH, NC – Matt West, Vice President of Business Operations for the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has entered into a partnership with the Carolina Ale House chain of restaurants to host its “Cool Bars” events throughout the 2005-06 season. The first of 10 scheduled events will take place Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Carolina Ale House in Cary.

“Cool Bars is a fun and exciting way for fans to watch the Hurricanes when they are away from the RBC Center,” said West. “We are proud to have a partner in the Carolina Ale House as the official and exclusive host of the Cool Bars Tour.”

At Cool Bars events, fans can watch the games on the Carolina Ale House’s multiple televisions, enjoy interactive games and visits from members of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina Storm Squad and Hurricanes mascot Stormy. Hurricanes new in-game host Ron the Ref will host the events, and the Hurricanes’ Promotions and Fan Development Department will be on hand to spice up the atmosphere with giveaways and raffles throughout the night. Foster of 96 Rock (WBBB 96.1 FM) will co-host Wednesday’s Cool Bars Tour stop with Ron the Ref and do live, on-air reads from the Cary Ale House.

The Carolina Ale House is a sports-themed restaurant with four locations: Raleigh, Cary, North Raleigh, and Durham, with the fifth location opening in Brier Creek this November. This award-winning restaurant is owned by the local restaurant group, LM Restaurants, the parent company of other Triangle eateries: Papa Lou’s, a quick serve concept, and Taverna Agora, a Greek Restaurant and bar. The Hurricanes open the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Tampa Bay before returning to Raleigh for their home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, Oct. 7. Individual game tickets for all Hurricanes games in October and November are available at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster outlets, at CarolinaHurricanes.com and by calling 919-834-4000. Only a limited amount of individual-game tickets remain for Opening Night.
