Senators: 13-2-0 (26 pts.)

Tonight’s Game
The Southeast Division-leading Carolina Hurricanes travel to Ottawa to face the Senators on Tuesday night at the Corel Centre (7:30 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network). This is the second of four meetings between the Hurricanes and Senators this season. Carolina took the teams’ first meeting 3-2 on Oct. 24 at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

The Hurricanes had their franchise best nine-game win streak snapped on Saturday in Raleigh at the hands of the Atlanta Thrashers. Still, Carolina has won nine of its last 10 games, dating back to a 4-0 win at Washington on Oct. 22, and holds a nine-point lead in the Southeast Division standings through Sunday’s games. With 25 points in their first 16 regular-season games, the Hurricanes are off to their best start in franchise history, eclipsing the previous first-16-games record of 20 points in 1996-97.
