HURRICANES REASSIGN MIKE ZIGOMANIS TO LOWELL
Forward scored one goal in 19 games with Hurricanes this season

RALEIGH, NC –
Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forward Mike Zigomanis to Lowell of the American Hockey League. Zigomanis scored one goal and had two penalty minutes in 19 games with the Hurricanes this season.

Zigomanis, 24, is in his third NHL season with the Hurricanes and his fifth season of professional hockey. A second-round selection (46th overall) of Carolina in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Zigomanis has seven points (3g, 4a) in 55 career NHL games. He is Lowell’s all-time leader in games played (254), goals (77), assists (114) and points (191).

The Carolina Hurricanes begin a five-game home stand tonight against Chicago (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network). Fans who donate at least two cans of food to the North Carolina Food Bank will receive a two-for-one voucher to purchase lower level or club level tickets to tonight’s game. The Hurricanes host Columbus on Thursday (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) and New Jersey on Saturday (7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network) before rounding off the home stand with games next week against Tampa Bay on Tuesday (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) and Florida on Friday (7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network).
