HURRICANES REASSIGN MIKE ZIGOMANIS TO LOWELL

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forward Mike Zigomanis to Lowell of the American Hockey League. Zigomanis scored one goal and had two penalty minutes in 19 games with the Hurricanes this season.
Zigomanis, 24, is in his third NHL season with the Hurricanes and his fifth season of professional hockey. A second-round selection (46th overall) of Carolina in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Zigomanis has seven points (3g, 4a) in 55 career NHL games. He is Lowell’s all-time leader in games played (254), goals (77), assists (114) and points (191).
The Carolina Hurricanes begin a five-game home stand tonight against Chicago (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network).
