Tonight's Game
The Southeast Division-leading Carolina Hurricanes begin a three-game home stand on Tuesday against the Central Division-leading Detroit Red Wings (7 p.m., OLN, Hurricanes Radio Network). The game is the first of three consecutive home games for Carolina against Central Division teams as Nashville (Jan. 13, 7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network) and St. Louis (Jan. 15, 1:30 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network) will visit the RBC Center in the next week.

The Hurricanes wrapped a four-game home stand on Jan. 6 with a 4-1 win against the New York Islanders and have now earned points in each of their last nine home games (12/13-1/6: 8-0-1) helping them to a 17-4-1 home record, the best home record in the NHL. Carolina's last regulation loss at the RBC Center occurred on Nov. 29, a 5-2 loss to the Atlanta Thrashers. Overall, the Hurricanes post a 27-10-4 record, have earned points in 13 of the last 15 games (12/6-1/7: 11-2-2) and hold the largest lead of any NHL division leader. With 58 points in their first 41 games, the Hurricanes enjoyed their best first-half in franchise history, eclipsing the 47-point, 41-game start by the 2001-02 squad.
