FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF TICKETS TO GO ON SALE APRIL 8
Fans can still get a head-start with playoff priority by placing deposit for 2006-07 by March 31

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 23, 2006

RALEIGH, NC –
Matt West, Vice President of Business Operations for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that tickets for all Hurricanes home games during the first round of the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster outlets, by calling 919-834-4000 or via CarolinaHurricanes.com, and gate pricing for first-round playoff tickets is listed below.

Fans who wish to establish playoff priority in order to purchase tickets ahead of the general public may still do so by placing a $100 per seat deposit on a season-ticket package for the 2006-07 season by March 31. Fans who place a deposit by that date will have an opportunity to purchase 2006 playoff tickets at a significant discount from the gate prices listed below, and will also receive a 10 percent early-bird discount on their 2006-07 season-ticket plan.

The Carolina Hurricanes are currently in first place in the Southeast Division, 21 points ahead of the second place, defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Carolina has already clinched the greatest season in franchise history, setting new franchise records for wins (currently 46) and points (98) in a season.

The Hurricanes completed a four-game road trip and a stretch in which they played nine of 10 games on the road with a 4-3 win in Buffalo last night. Carolina returns to the RBC Center Saturday night, where the team will host the Washington Capitals (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) in the first game of a four-game home stand. Individual game tickets for all remaining Hurricanes games at the RBC Center can be purchased at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster outlets, by calling 919-834-4000 or via CarolinaHurricanes.com.
