HURRICANES RECALL KEITH AUCOIN FROM LOWELL
Lock Monsters’ leading scorer to join Hurricanes today

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the Hurricanes have recalled forward Keith Aucoin from Lowell of the American Hockey League (AHL). Aucoin will be eligible to play in Carolina’s game tonight against the Washington Capitals at the RBC Center (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network).

Aucoin, 27, ranks eighth in the AHL in points (77) and tied for sixth in assists (51) through games of March 24. He registered an assist in Lowell’s 3-2 shootout win last night at Tsongas Arena against the Providence Bruins. In 67 games with Lowell this season, the Waltham, Mass., native has 26 goals, 51 assists for 77 points to lead all Lock Monsters skaters. He made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes and January, playing in two games and earning one assist.

The Carolina Hurricanes return to the RBC Center tonight to face the Washington Capitals (7 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) in the first game of a four-game home stand against Southeast Division teams. The Hurricanes will play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, the Capitals on Wednesday and the Florida Panthers on Friday to round out the home stand.
