RALEIGH, NC – The National Hockey League today announced the schedule for the first round of the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Carolina Hurricanes, who earned the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a franchise record 112 points, will host the seventh-seeded Montreal Canadiens in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center.

At right is the complete schedule for the Hurricanes’ first-round, best-of-seven series against the Canadiens.
