RALEIGH, NC –
Michael Hurley, Director of Broadcasting and Corporate Sales for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s North Carolina television package for the second round of the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs. John Forslund will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the broadcasts, and he will be joined by color analyst Tripp Tracy.

NBC will exclusively air Games 1 and 4 of the series, and OLN will exclusively air Games 2 and 3. Forslund will join Hurricanes radio play-by-play announcer Chuck Kaiton as a color analyst for the Hurricanes Radio Network for all games not aired on FSN South. Game 1 between Carolina and New Jersey will take place at the RBC Center in Raleigh at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. Face-off for Game 2 at the RBC Center is set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8. The Hurricanes closed out the series against the Canadiens with a 2-1 overtime win in Game 6 at Montreal on Tuesday at the Bell Centre. The Devils swept the New York Rangers in their best-of-seven quarterfinal series to advance to the second round.
