Parking lots to open at 9 a.m. prior to Saturday’s Carolina-Buffalo 2 p.m. game


RALEIGH, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes today announced information about the events surrounding Saturday’s Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the RBC Center between the Southeast Division Champion Hurricanes and the Buffalo Sabres. Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. (NBC, Hurricanes Radio Network), and parking lots will open to fans at 9 a.m.

Hurricanes partner 96 Rock will sponsor a lawn party on the RBC Center’s south lawn beginning at 11:30 a.m. The band The BackBeat will perform at noon and 96 Rock will broadcast live from the lawn party. Stormy and the Storm Squad will visit with fans, face painters will be set up to decorate fans’ faces for the game and food and drink will be available. Fans also will have the chance take a shot at the Hurricanes’ slap shot booth and play street hockey with friends and neighbors on two street hockey rinks.

Upon entering the RBC Center fans can enjoy the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame mobile display on the arena’s main concourse. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to game time at 12:30 p.m. and the Arena Club Restaurant will open at noon. General parking passes may be purchased in advance at the box office or through the Hurricanes’ Group Sales Department.

Upon exiting the RBC Center, fans will receive a commemorative pint class courtesy of Pepsi and News 14 Carolina.

The Hurricanes will host Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday (7:30 p.m., OLN, Hurricanes Radio Network). Tickets to all third-round Stanley Cup playoff games at the RBC Center are currently available at the RBC Center box office, all North Carolina TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via CarolinaHurricanes.com. The Hurricanes remind fans that the RBC Center box office, Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Club and TicketMaster are the only authorized ticket sellers for RBC Center events. Due to technological advancements, it is no longer possible to visually determine the authenticity or validity of any ticket. Lost, stolen, counterfeit and other apparently legitimate tickets may have been invalidated through electronic means and will not be honored at the RBC Center. The Hurricanes reserve the right to void, without compensation to the holder or owner, any tickets resold or offered for resale at a price above that allowed by North Carolina General Statutes §14-344 ($3 above face value).
