HURRICANES ANNOUNCE \'OPENING NIGHT TWO\' FESTIVITIES
Great seats still available; Stanley Cup will be on display

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—Oct. 4, 2006

RALEIGH, NC—
The 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes today announced further details about “Opening Night 2,” which will take place on Friday, Oct. 6 at the RBC Center, surrounding the team’s game against the rival New Jersey Devils. Game time is set for 7 p.m., and the parking lots will begin to open at 2:30 p.m. All fans who attend the game will receive the second of two special edition lithographs, presented by RBC Centura. The lithograph will feature an image of the 2006 Stanley Cup championship banner being raised to the rafters at the RBC Center.

“Opening Night 2” features many of the same festivities as tonight’s season opener, including a pre-game party which starts at 4:30 p.m. on the South Lawn outside the RBC Center. The band “Rubberband” will perform from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m., and radio station Y-102.9 will broadcast live from the party.

Prior to the opening face-off, the Hurricanes will again reveal their 2006 championship banners, including the 2006 Stanley Cup championship banner. The Stanley Cup, the Prince of Wales Trophy, the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Selke Trophy, each won by the Hurricanes or individual Hurricanes players in 2006, will be available for viewing during the game and both intermissions. Fans can take pictures of the trophies, but will not be able to pose with them. The viewing will take place in “Stormy’s Birthday Room” on the north end of the third-level concourse of the RBC Center from the 10-minute mark of the first period until the beginning of the third period.

The Carolina Hurricanes open the 2006-07 season at the RBC Center tonight at 7 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres. Individual-game tickets for all Hurricanes home games in October and November are available at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com.
