STANLEY CUP TO VISIT STATE FAIR ON FRIDAY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—Oct. 11, 2006
RALEIGH, NC—Howard Sadel, Director of Marketing and Creative Services for the 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Stanley Cup will be on display at the “Got to be NC” tent at the North Carolina State Fair on Friday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday’s Stanley Cup visit to the State Fair marks the Cup’s last planned public appearance in North Carolina.
“The Cup has traveled to several locations all across North Carolina this summer and early fall,” said Sadel. “With the Hurricanes’ time with the Cup winding down, it’s great to be able to end its tour at a statewide event like the Fair.”
Prior to its display at the “Got to be NC” tent in front of the Scott Building, the Cup and its keeper Mike Bolt will take a spin on a carnival ride with Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler.
The Carolina Hurricanes continue their seven-game road swing tonight at Florida (7:30 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) before continuing on to Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Buffalo and the NY Islanders. The Hurricanes return to the RBC Center to take on the Atlanta Thrashers on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Oct. 25 game and all Hurricanes home games in October and November are available at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com.
