SATURDAY’S GAME
The Carolina Hurricanes wrap up a three-game home stand on Saturday against the Boston Bruins (7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network). The Hurricanes fell 4-1 to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, but rebounded with a 4-2 win against Montreal on Thursday in the first two games of the home stand. The Hurricanes will travel to Calgary on Sunday in advance of next Tuesday’s game against the Flames – the first game of a four-game road trip against Northwest Division opponents.

The NHL and the Hurricanes will honor Captain Rod Brind’Amour and his 1,000-points accomplishment (Nov. 4 at Ottawa) in a pre-game ceremony on Dec. 29 prior to the team’s game against Anaheim. AGAINST THE BRUINS
Saturday’s game marks the second of four meetings this season between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins. The Hurricanes took the clubs’ first meeting on Nov. 24 at TD Banknorth Garden by a 5-1 margin. In 2005-06, the Hurricanes posted a 3-1-0 record against the Bruins, splitting the games at TD Banknorth Garden with a 4-3 shootout victory on Feb. 5 and a 4-2 loss on March 18. Aaron Ward led all Carolina scorers in last year’s season series with two goals and five assists (7 points). Eric Staal added two goals and four assists (6 points) for Carolina. The Bruins lead the all-time series against the Hurricanes 83-59-16, with the Hurricanes posting a 33-36-9 record at home and a 27-47-7 record in Boston.
