LAVIOLETTE TO SPEAK AT FRIENDS OF SCOUTING BREAKFAST

RALEIGH, NC—Martin Banning, District Director for the Crosswinds District Boy Scouts of America, announced today that Carolina Hurricanes head coach Peter Laviolette will serve as the keynote speaker for the Crosswinds District “Friends of Scouting Breakfast.” The fourth annual “Friends of Scouting” breakfast will take place at 7:30 a.m. on March 20, 2007, at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.
More than 150 community and business leaders attend the breakfast annually, and past speakers have included Miami (Ohio) football coach and former N.C. State quarterback Shane Montgomery and Commander Scott Waddle, Retired Commander of the USS Greenville nuclear submarine. The breakfast emphasizes values taught through the Scouting program, including teamwork, leadership development, preparation and service to the community.
Seats for the breakfast are available for various donations levels to the Crosswinds District (Apex, Cary and Morrisville areas of Wake County) of the Occoneechee Council.
