COLE TO DROP PUCK FOR IRONCAM HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
Tournament to raise money for Cary boy injured in skiing accident

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—March 23, 2007

RALEIGH, NC—
Carolina Hurricanes left wing Erik Cole will drop the puck for the opening game of the Ironcam Hockey Tournament on Saturday, March 24 at Dream Sports Center in Apex at 1 p.m. The Ironcam Hockey Tournament will raise money for the Cameron Wall Assistance Fund, which benefits the family of a 14-year old Cary boy who suffered a spinal injury in a skiing accident in December.

More than 40 teams are expected to compete for medals on Saturday during the tournament, and opening ceremonies will begin at 12:30 p.m. In addition to Cole’s appearance, Hurricanes television play-by-play announcer John Forslund will emcee the opening ceremonies and Hurricanes mascot Stormy will be in attendance. A silent auction will be held from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. featuring Hurricanes tickets, sports memorabilia, weekend getaways, day spa certificates, portable DVD players and more. Food will be provided by Dunkin’ Donuts, Chick-fil-A, Danny’s Barbecue, Bear Rock Café and It’s a Grind Coffee.

Cameron Wall broke his neck and suffered a paralyzing spinal cord injury on Dec. 28. He is currently being treated at a spinal cord rehabilitation center in Atlanta, where Hurricanes players Eric Staal, Cam Ward and Andrew Ladd paid him a visit on Feb. 22. For more information about the Ironcam Hockey Tournament or the Cameron Wall Assistance Fund, please contact Scott Hecht at (919) 388-2436.

The Carolina Hurricanes host the San Jose Sharks at the RBC Center tomorrow at 7 p.m. (FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network). Individual-game tickets for all Hurricanes home games are available at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com.
