HURRICANES ANNOUNCE LAUNCH OF CAROLINA HURRICANES CARE PROGRAM
Partnership aims to further bond with youth hockey community

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—March 30, 2007

RALEIGH, NC—The Carolina Hurricanes and Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) announced a partnership today to create a larger bond between the two organizations and the youth hockey community by creating Carolina Hurricanes Care program.

“In combination with our recently announced Canes Youth and Amateur Hockey (CYAH) program, CarolinaHurricanesCare.com is a valuable partnership which will assist in growing hockey in this region,” stated Curt Johnson, Carolina Hurricanes Director of Marketing. “We are pleased to work with the Carolina Amateur Hockey Association to offer this one of a kind resource for youth hockey information to all youth hockey families, and we want to thank (CAHA board member) Rick Summers for his work on this project.”

Carolina Hurricanes Care will serve as a cost-free resource center for the youth hockey community through the website, www.CarolinaHurricanesCare.com. Free memberships are available to all those interested in registering online.

“This is a groundbreaking program that has many valuable tools for our members,” said CAHA President Ken Rosenbaum. “With the support of the Carolina Hurricanes, we are able to provide the youth hockey community the resources and information they need to succeed.”

Through guidance from Hurricanes players and coaches, as well as other youth hockey community members, the program will provide important resources and current information for youth hockey families, coaches and associations. Among the resources available to members are newsletters with information regarding youth hockey in North Carolina and South Carolina, published articles about sports, discussions by youth hockey leaders, interviews with Hurricanes players and coaches and special Hurricanes ticket offers.

The Carolina Hurricanes take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at the RBC Center (7:30 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network) before beginning a two-game road trip at Florida on Sunday (5 p.m., FSN South, Hurricanes Radio Network). Tickets for all Hurricanes home games are available at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com.
