Hurricanes Agree To Terms With Scott Walker
Veteran winger agrees to contract extending through 2009-10 season

Walker, 33, joined the Hurricanes in 2006-07 after an offseason trade brought him to Carolina from Nashville. In his first season with the Hurricanes, Walker (5’10”, 196 lbs.) ranked sixth on the team with 21 goals, 30 assists and 51 points, and amassed 45 penalty minutes while playing in 81 of the team’s 82 games. The Cambridge, Ont., native will enter his 13th NHL season in 2007-08. In 688 career regular-season games with Vancouver, Nashville and Carolina, Walker has scored 127 goals, earned 215 assists (342 points) and accumulated 976 penalty minutes.
