Hurricanes Announce Groups for Start of Camp
Saturday and Sunday practices will be closed to public, but open to media

RALEIGH, NC—The Carolina Hurricanes today announced the player groups for their 2007 Training Camp, which opens with a goalie and skills session on Friday, Sept. 14 at 8 a.m. at the RBC Center. Group A is scheduled to take the ice at 8:30 a.m. Group B will skate at 10:15 a.m. and Group C at 12 p.m. A document with the player groups is attached to this release. Groups are subject to change daily.
Media availability for players will occur after their on- and off-ice responsibilities are complete. Please be advised that if the dressing room opens to make players from Group A available, players in other groups preparing for their practice sessions will not be available until after their on- and off-ice sessions have concluded. Hurricanes head coach Peter Laviolette will be available after the final group of the day completes practice.
The Hurricanes also announced that team’s practices on Saturday, Sept. 15 will be closed to the public due to the N.C. State football game at Carter-Finley Stadium. It will remain open to the media, who should park in the player lot inside the gates of the North loading dock. The Hurricanes’ non-game group practices on Sunday, Sept. 16 will also be closed to the public because of the Caniac Carnival. The arena doors will open at noon for fans who have wristbands for the 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. autograph session. Doors will open at 2 p.m. for all other patrons in advance of the team’s preseason opener against the Washington Capitals.
All other Hurricanes practices during training camp, including the team’s Red-White scrimmages on Tuesday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m., will be open to the general public.
