Hurricanes Assign 15 Players to Albany
Updated Training Camp Roster
RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced Thursday that the team has assigned 15 players to Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Hurricanes training camp roster now stands at 33 players heading into this weekend’s home-and-home series with the Nashville Predators.
Goaltenders Kevin Nastiuk, Justin Peters and Daniel Manzato, defensemen Wade Brookbank, Tim Conboy, Mark Flood, Joey Mormina and Steve Ward and forwards Mike Angelidis, Nicolas Blanchard, David Gove, Bobby Hughes, Kirk MacDonald, Brandon Nolan and Jerome Samson will report to Albany’s training camp when it begins on Sept. 26. The remaining 33 players in Carolina’s camp will skate in several specialized sessions on Friday morning, beginning with an 8:30 goalie session. The non-game group will take the ice at 9 a.m., the the full-game group will skate at 11 a.m. following a 30-minute power-play practice. The Hurricanes continue their 2007-08 preseason schedule when they host the Nashville Predators at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center.
