26-game plan and three 12-game plans offer fans greater variety of opponents
RALEIGH, NC—Kyle Prairie, Director of Ticket Sales for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s mini-season ticket plans for the 2008-09 season. Partial season ticket plan-holders can opt for a 26-game plan, or choose between three different 12-game plans.
The 26-game plan covers more than half of the Hurricanes’ home schedule, including opening night against the Florida Panthers, the New Year’s Eve match-up with the Atlanta Thrashers and Fan Appreciation Night on April 9 against the Buffalo Sabres. Of the 26 games in the plan, 17 fall on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and the plan includes non-weekend match-ups against the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs. The plan also features a diverse group of opponents including Western Conference visitors Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton and Phoenix. The 26-game plan also includes both of the Hurricanes’ home games against Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Toronto.
Of the three 12-game plans available for purchase, the Red Plan features 11 games falling on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, with the Thursday, Feb. 12 game against Florida being the lone weeknight game in the plan. The Red Plan also features Opening Night against Florida on Oct. 10, cross-conference games against Nashville and St. Louis, as well as the April 4 match up against Pittsburgh.
The White Plan features weeknight games, with all 12 games falling on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The White Plan is the lone 12-game plan that features the Hurricanes’ Oct. 13 match up against the Detroit Red Wings, and Carolina’s mid-week match up against Pittsburgh on Dec. 4 and Boston on Dec. 17.
The Black Plan offers fans eight weekend games, including the Hurricanes’ much anticipated match up against their 2006 Stanley Cup Finals opponent, the Edmonton Oilers. Along with the weekend games, the Black Plan features Carolina’s New Year’s Eve game against the Atlanta Thrashers, games against Western Conference opponents Phoenix, Columbus, Colorado and Calgary, and Fan Appreciation Night on April 9 against Buffalo.
Mini-season ticket plans provide fans with many of the same advantages of full-season ticket plans, including a discount off the gate ticket price, the chance to purchase game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and priority status for ticket packages for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Mini-plan holders also have access to the Ticket Exchange Program, which allows fans to exchange unused plan tickets on one of the team’s pre-selected exchange game nights. Mini-plan holders will also receive a special annual gift from the team, be able to keep the same seat for all of their mini-plan games and have the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets at the gate price to avoid service charges. Seat availability for the plans will be limited, with top seat locations reserved for full-season ticket plans and more prime seat locations reserved for the 26-game plans.
Fans who choose the 26-game package will earn additional benefits, including playoff priority for their exact seat location, and a 10 percent discount on merchandise at The Eye, the official team store.
The Carolina Hurricanes open their preseason schedule on Sunday, Sept. 24 against the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. For information on Hurricanes ticket packages, please call 1-866-NHL-CANES or visit www.CarolinaHurricanes.com.
