Guy Behind the Guy: Saturday\'s Game on NHL Network

The NHL Network will pick up Comcast’s broadcast of the Hurricanes’ exhibition game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. It will be a throwback-style broadcast by the Flyers’ rightsholder, as the Hurricanes and Flyers face-off in the final NHL game at the Spectrum. Game time is 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Also, the Hurricanes’ 2008-09 Media Guide is complete, and Webmaster Paul Branecky has posted it in PDF form on this site. If you hold your mouse over “STATS” on the menu bar on the top of this page, one of the options should say “2008-09 Media Guide.” Simply click on any of the sections and you can see the digital version of the book we hand out to all the media that cover us on a regular basis and at home games. The guide will also be available at The Eye store when the printed copies arrive.

Today, thankfully, marks the final day of triple-session Canes practices at the RBC Center. Tomorrow marks the beginning of a four-games-in-five-nights stretch.

Media Alert: Jim Rutherford will join Scott Laughlin on Hockey This Morning on XM, Wednesday at 9:25 a.m. to preview the Hurricanes' season.

Also, Peter Laviolette will join Mike Stangl during the Bomani Jones show on 620 The Bull Wednesday to talk about the start of the preseason schedule. The interview will air at 11:25 a.m.
