99.9 The Fan’s Canes Corner makes its season debut on Wednesday night, broadcasting live from Village Draft House in Cameron Village in Raleigh. Canes Head Coach Peter Laviolette will be Mike Maniscalco’s guest as the show enters its second season. A complete list of Canes Corner dates and locations is available on our website.

In addition to Canes Corner, 99.9 FM The Fan is also going to air a season preview show. The two-hour special will hit the airwaves on the Hurricanes flagship station from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Thursday night, and will also be hosted by Mike Maniscalco. Fans can expect to hear from Hurricanes television stars John Forslund and Tripp Tracy, along with a plentiful assortment of players and coaches as Maniscalco previews the team and the entire Southeast Division for the 2008-09 season.

Speaking of Mr. Maniscalco, congratulations to the host of The Fanatics, Canes Corner and the Hurricanes pre- and post-game shows on an impressive performance at Qdoba today. It's not every day you see a local radio personality take down two Queso Burritos. For the record, it is not a regular occurance -- Mike is known to enjoy one Queso Burrito with friends, but was simply making good on a promise with today's feat. Kids, don't try this at home.

UPDATE: In addition to his morning assignments, Eric Staal will join NHL Live, which is simulcast on NHL Home Ice on XM and the NHL Network on television around 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The show is hosted by Don La Greca and E.J. Hradek.
