Murley Reportedly Leaves for Russia
|Index | Archive|
Murley just signed a two-way deal with the Canes on September 15 that guaranteed him some games at the NHL level, but apparently got a sweeter deal in Russia. Alexander Radulov was the first player to sign in Russia despite being under contract with an NHL team in July, and it appears Murley has joined him.
Due to the lack of an international transfer agreement, these "defections" have become complicated. Radulov's case is still being resolved, but for now the only thing Nashville has been able to do is suspend him without pay, and the International Ice Hockey Federation banned him from international competition.
I'll try to get more on this later today.
