Hello Caniacs- I hope you are doing well!

After 189 days or 4,536 hours or 272,160 minutes Opening Night is here!

We are minutes away from hearing the roar of the RBC Center crowd, ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ and every Caniacs’ favorite sound- the goal horn!

Take the day off, leave early or schedule a 3:00 p.m. “meeting” at the RBC Center. Opening Night only comes around once a year and I am sure your boss, teacher, etc. will understand.  The puck drops in the Carolinas and there is only one place to be Friday.

A few reminders about Opening Night and new programs we will be kicking off on the 10th.

Front Lawn Party
As the official tailgating spot for the NHL (according to us at least!), we have increased our front lawn parties for the 08-09 season.  This year we will have nine total, starting with Opening night.  The party will get started at 5:00 p.m. and will take us up to 6:45 p.m.  The festivities out front will include the band Anonymous, food and beverage, multiple inflatables and street hockey.

Visit here for the complete front lawn party schedule for the upcoming season.

Car Flag Program
This season we are making an extra push for fans to wave their car flags on the way to a Hurricanes game.  We want the entire community to see your Hurricanes Pride and know that the ‘Canes are at home tonight.  There are multiple opportunities for fans to get free flags, including tonight when the first 15,000 fans will receive a car flag.  At every home game this year our staff will select random fans in the parking lot that have their car flags up.  Prizes will include autographs and tickets to future games.  Visit here for complete Car Flag Program details.

Get in your seats early - Pre-game ceremonies will start at 6:55 p.m.  Let’s set the tone right off the bat as one of the loudest houses in the NHL!

We look forward to seeing you all tonight!
