Thank you to everyone that joined Joni Pitkanen, our staff and fellow Caniacs at the Carolina Ale House in Wake Forest for the Cool Bar Tour. It was a great and lively crowd and we enjoyed watching the game with everyone.  We will post pictures soon.

Here are a few things to look out for this weekend!

Friday, November 7 vs. Ottawa Senators 7:00 p.m.
Tonight is our first of eight Family Nights at the RBC Center.  In addition to the great ticket offers, (two Lower Level North tickets for $99 / four for $198 OR two Upper Corners tickets for $49 / four for $98) family nights offer $1 hot dogs for all in attendance. That is correct! Select hot dogs will be ONLY $1 for ALL in attendance- You do not need to purchase the family night ticket special to receive this offer.

Retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant Niles Harris will be operating the Hurricanes Warning Siren. Harris is an American hero and his story has recently been featured in a music video by country stars Big and Rich.  I have included a link to see the video. It is a well done and moving video.  Harris is a Vietnam era veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart as a result of wounds received in battle on the 8th of November, 1965.

Tonight, we our debuting the DJ Challenge during the 1st and 2nd intermission. We have invited radio DJs throughout North Carolina to compete head to head on the ice in a shoot out.  A total of eight stations will be involved in the season long, single elimination tournament.

Tonight’s DJs are Mike Maniscalco from 99.9 The FanDave Kent from 93.9, Skip Sher from 98.7 FM out of Greensboro and Zac Davis 106.1 the Rooster.

Here are the dates and matches for the first round:

Sunday. November 9 vs. Atlanta Thrashers, 3:00 p.m.
Starting at 1:00 p.m., join us in the front of the RBC Center for Front Lawn Party III.  It is looking like it is going to be a beautiful day and Grant Haze will be playing until 2:45 p.m.. We will have the “something for everyone” set up with inflatables, street hockey, the band, 99.9 the Fan and food and beverage for purchase.
