Matt Cullen, Joni Pitkanen and Brandon Sutter were all heavily involved in this morning’s intensive practice, raising hopes that they’ll be available to face Washington tomorrow night.

Cullen and Pitkanen both manned the point on separate power play units, while Sutter took his usual spot on the penalty kill.  Cullen skated on a line with Sergei Samsonov and Scott Walker, while Sutter took a regular shift centering the fourth line with Wade Brookbank, Patrick Dwyer and Dwight Helminen rotating on his wings.

For complete lines from Tuesday’s practice, check the depth chart.

”The fact that they’re on lines and participating, hopefully we’ll get them on the ice soon,” said Laviolette.

Laviolette also said that he plans to use Michael Leighton in goal tomorrow.  After last Friday’s 2-1 win over Ottawa, Leighton is now 4-1-0 on the season.
