Thanks to everyone who participated in Tuesday’s food drive benefiting the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.  We had a solid turnout that featured a strong rush as the game approached.

It seemed that everyone took time to participate in the raffle associated with the food drive.  As announced, we raffled one jersey for each player’s significant other that volunteered their time last night.  We had a total of 8 wives and girlfriends who participated, which means we gave out 8 jerseys (Brind’Amour, Brookbank, Leighton, Samsonov, Walker, Wallin, Ward and Williams).

We will know the exact amount of food donated later in the month.  Last year we donated 1,900 pounds of food.  I am not sure if we will hit a ton this year or not, but it was a great turnout.

Just a heads up, different wives will be assisting with each drive with the same jersey promotion tied to each drive.  Our next drive is our Toy Drive on Tuesday, December 16th.  The clothing drive on January 6th will be the big finale and will feature a really cool addition the jersey component (we will announce later).
