Tickets for the event are $75 with all proceeds benefiting the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.  There are roughly 100 tickets remaining and we hope to sell out by the event time Tuesday night.

What is Skate with the Canes?
Skate with the Canes features three main components: (1) skating on the RBC Center ice with Canes players (obvious) (2) autograph session (3) photo session/locker room tour.  The team and all of the attendants are broken into three groups.  Every 40 minutes, you will rotate from one “station” to another.

The groups of players and attendees rotate in opposite directions to ensure that every Foundation supporter interacts with every player/coach at some point during the night.  For example, you might skate with a group that includes Rod Brind’Amour, get autographs from a group that includes Eric Staal and take photos with a group that features Ray Whitney and Cam Ward.  Each player/coach group will include approximately 8 different Hurricanes.

On top of these unique opportunities, food and beverage is served and two gifts are given to all attendees.  One gift this year is a cool poster that features a unique locker room shot.  The poster is perfect for autographs from the 08-09 team.

Also, Stormy, members of the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad and Ron the Ref will all be hanging out at the event.

Why attend Skate with the Canes?
First, this is one of our three main fundraisers for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.  Last year our Foundation donated over $578,000 in cash to 37 different children’s charities in North Carolina.  Last year’s event raised a record of just over $32,000 and we are very close to breaking that record this year. Every little bit helps right now as we are receiving more grant applications than ever before.

Second, this is a great chance to interact with our players in several different settings.  Hockey players are truly great guys and that is always on display at events like these.  I know that the event can not be given as a holiday gift this year (which we tried very hard to do), but you can still get some great autographed items that can be given as gifts.

How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets can be purchased at the TimeWarner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center from 10a-6p (that is a mouthful), at ANY TickeMaster outlet or by calling (919) 834-4000.

As long as tickets remain, they will be on-sale until the time of the event, Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
