Canes Activate Gleason from Injured Reserve
RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Tim Gleason from the injured reserve list. In order to make room for Gleason on the active roster, the Hurricanes reassigned defenseman Casey Borer to Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gleason, 25, has missed Carolina’s last eight games after suffering a leg injury against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 23. The Clawson, MI, native has earned seven points (0g, 7a) in 21 games for the Hurricanes this season, and ranks second among Hurricanes defensemen in hits (51) and blocked shots (41). In 283 career NHL games with Los Angeles and Carolina, Gleason has totaled seven goals, 53 assists (60 points) and 265 penalty minutes.
