It was the second straight loss for Team USA, which outshot the Slovakians 49-19 on the heels of Wednesday night’s loss to Zach Boychuk and Canada. Bowman was scoreless in the quarterfinal game, but finished the tournament tied for the team lead in goals with three.

Although he left Wednesday’s game on crutches after injuring his ankle in the second period, Boychuk practiced today and says he expects to play tomorrow against the winner of tonight’s Russia/Czech Republic game. He had scored earlier in the game against the U.S., and his four goals and three assists rank tied for seventh overall.

Boychuk could face off against Michal Jordan, the Canes’ fourth-round pick last summer, if the Czechs manage to beat Russia. Jordan has one assist and an even plus/minus rating so far.
