Hurricanes Recall Dwyer from Albany
Forward has skated in 12 NHL games this season, netting one goal
Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled right wing Patrick Dwyer from Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Dwyer, 25, made his NHL debut on Nov. 2 against Toronto, and has played in 11 NHL games with the Hurricanes this season. He netted his first NHL goal on Nov. 28, deflecting a Joni Pitkanen shot past Philadelphia’s Antero Niittymaki, and he averaged 8:46 per game in ice time during his 12 games on the NHL level this season. The Spokane, WA native has totaled seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) and 13 penalty minutes in 25 games with Albany (AHL) this year. Signed by the Hurricanes as a free agent on July 7, 2006, Dwyer has totaled 52 goals and 76 assists (128 points) in 236 career AHL games with Chicago and Albany.
