Canes Activate Seidenberg From IR

Defenseman has missed last six games with a groin injury

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Dennis Seidenberg from injured reserve. Seidenberg has missed the Hurricanes’ last six games with a groin injury.

Seidenberg, 27, has played in 43 of the Hurricanes’ 55 games this season, and ranks third on the team in average ice time at 23:47 per game. The Schwenningen, Germany, native leads all Hurricanes skaters and ranks tied for 15th in the NHL with 108 blocked shots, and ranks third among Carolina defensemen with 17 points (2g, 15a).
