Three Albany Players Released from Hospital

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that three of the four Albany River Rats players hospitalized as a result of Thursday morning’s bus accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike have been released from the hospital. Casey Borer, Joe Jensen and Jonathan Paiement were released earlier today from Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsville, MA, while Nicolas Blanchard remains hospitalized for treatment.

The American Hockey League also announced that a second River Rats game has been rescheduled as a result of Thursday’s accident. Albany’s game against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, originally scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 22, has been rescheduled for Monday, March 16.
