I also wanted to make note that a number of the players and coaches had plenty to say about the atmosphere at the RBC Center last night. I am pretty sure we reached sound levels unheard around these parts since the summer of 2006, and there is no doubt that the Caniacs are giving the Hurricanes quite the home-ice advantage these days. I thought my partner-in-PR Kyle Hanlin put it well when he said "It was chills-up-your-spine loud." Chad LaRose said it was "Completely awesome." It was just electric.
“That was something else,” coach Paul Maurice said of the crowd. “In the third period they got it going and we were much better. I thought the fans picked us up.”Media Alerts: Paul Maurice and Scott Walker will each be guests of Mike Ross and Adam Proteau on Hockey News Radio Friday afternoon in the 3-4 p.m. hour. The Hockey News Radio Show airs on XM Satellite Home Ice Channel 204.
Canes fans in Pittsburgh can hear Eric Staal with Mark Madden this afternoon around 3:30 p.m. on the Penguins flagship station, 105.9 The X. Folks everywhere should be able to hear the interview, because the station streams live at www.wxdx.com.
