First things first. The crowd at the RBC Center last night was phenomenal, AMAZING, at its finest, energetic, deafening at times, and _______ (insert word here that means loud, VERY LOUD ). You all were into it from puck drop and displayed moments of greatness. The stretch in the 3rd Period following the two goals gave me chills as the roar kept going and grew louder and louder. There have been plenty of games this year where the arena has been rockin’ but you all took it to the next level last night. If you read post-game comments the players and coaches are hearing you all and it is impacting the game. So thank you and keep it up!

It is because of acts like this that we will be celebrating Fan Appreciation WEEK instead of just one game. So lets move on to the premiums, promotions, giveaways and OH MY! portion of the blog.

Premiums:

We have giveaways associated with all of our remaining games. 

Saturday vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - We will giveaway the second poster from the BlackBerry Bold series featuring Matt Cullen, Joni Pitkanen, Tuomo Ruutu and Eric Staal. 

Tuesday vs. NY Islanders  - We are partnering with the NC Department of Transportation for the annual team poster. 

Thursday vs. Buffalo Sabres - The first 15,000 fans will receive a Hurricanes hat. This is not your average giveaway hat as these are top of the line and right on par with the hats given away the last two seasons. 

Promotions:

We are giving away a new car. Yes, a new car. We have teamed up with Chevy for a third consecutive year and will be giving away a new Chevy Traverse on April 9th. Fans can enter to win at local participating dealers or visit the Chevy kiosk on Saturday located outside of the East or West priority lounge. We secured our first finalist last night, but still have three spots left.

Pepsi Vending machines: Six fans will win a vending machine featuring a Canes player and Pepsi products. Fans can enter to win at our micro-site, via a CanesConnect that was sent out today or visit the Promotions kiosk by 108/109 before Saturday’s game. Isn’t the old saying, “No room or house is complete without a Pepsi vending machine featuring a Hurricanes player?” I think that is what my Finnish grandparents Mummum and Papu used to tell me.

Jersey Off a Players Back: One of the most common questions I receive is, ‘How do I get a jersey at the last game?’ Or ‘Do you all pre select all of the jersey off a players back winners?

Misc. Items:

We will have front lawn parties on Saturday and Thursday. The weather is looking real solid for Saturday.

If you are at the game on Tuesday we will have the finals of our season long DJ Challenge. Mike Maniscalco of 99.9 the Fan and Wayne Michaels of Mix 101.5 will compete for the championship. Both finalists have steamrolled through the preliminaries and the battle for the trophy (yes we made them a trophy) should be epic.
